Wister Quartet and Friends

The Wister Quartet is enthusiastically welcomed when they return every few years to grace our stage. Four then-members of the Philadelphia Orchestra formed the quartet in 1987. The quartet has earned high praise from critics and audiences alike for its superb musicianship and memorable performances, including those with guest artists Yefin Bronfmam, Alicia de Larrocha, Christopher Eschenbach, Wolfgang Sawallisch, and Yo-Yo Ma.

Arianna String Quartet

Hailed for its outstanding musicianship, the Arianna String Quartet has firmly established itself as one of America’s finest chamber ensembles. Their performances have been praised for “tonal warmth, fastidious balance and expressive vitality” (Chicago Tribune) and “emotional commitment and fluent virtuosity” (Pretoria News, South Africa). Formed in 1992, the ASQ garnered national attention by winning the Grand Prize in the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, First Prize in both the Coleman and Carmel Chamber Music Competitions, and were Laureates in the Bordeaux International String Quartet Competition.

Aeolus Quartet

Aeolus Quartet and Friends

Formed in 2008, the Quartet is comprised of violinists Nicholas Tavani and Rachel Shapiro, violist Caitlin Lynch, and cellist Alan Richardson. Mark Satola of the Cleveland Plain Dealer wrote of a performance, “The quartet has a rich and warm tone combined with precise ensemble playing – that managed to come across as fluid and natural – and an impressive musical intelligence guided every technical and dramatic turn.”

Adaskin String Trio and Friends

Since 1994, the Adaskin String Trio has won over audiences with exuberant playing and programming that blends classical masterpieces with unexpected treasures, Critics agree. Their playing has been hailed for “vigor, precision and stylistic certitude” (Charleston Gazette) as well as “spontaneity, intensity and charm” (Peninsula Review). The trio has toured throughout the United States and Canada performing at venues such as the Frick Collection in New York, the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. and the Flagler Museum in Palm Beach, and in Boston, Los Angeles, Toronto, Montreal, and Chicago.

Intersection was founded by conductor Kelly Corcoran in 2014 with the desire to bring a professional contemporary music ensemble to Nashville, and for Nashville’s music scene to more accurately reflect the diversity of music being created around the world today. Intersection is a flexible music ensemble that explores the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, supports living composers and presents programs for younger audiences.

Bohemian Trio

Immersed in different cultural and musical backgrounds, Yosvany Terry, Orlando Alonso, and Yves Dhar joined forces in 2013 to form the Bohemian Trio. The three musicians were drawn to the idea that their blend of traditions would speak to the true voice of the Americas: a cacophony of cultures that, together, forges a new identity that transcends Old World boundaries.
